 | New Yorker donates one million to flood victims in Pakistan | | 17/09/2010 | | The owner of the Brunswick-based youth fashion company New Yorker, Friedrich Knapp, donated one million Euros to the flood victims in Pakistan as part of yesterday’s giant television gala on German TV channel ZDF. New Yorker had already demonstrated its generosity in January this year by supporting the earthquake victims in Haiti with one million Euros.
Thousands of viewers responded with donations for the long-suffering people of Pakistan during yesterday’s special broadcast on ZDF. Spectators were able to donate to the Alliance for Action Disaster Relief (Caritas, Diakonie, DRK, Deutsche Welthungerhilfe). Nearly 8 million Euros were raised yesterday evening.
